This is the ongoing story of my trip around South east asia and beyond, beginning with my stint volunteering in Cambodia, and continuing on with a whirlwind trip through the delights of Vietnam, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand, and finally the delights of Rarotonga in the Cook islands before returning home.
I met your dad 10 years ago at my sister's 50th birthday party in London for which he had very kindly arranged music for me to sing a (weird c&w) song for her. Unfortunately, I chose to sing with his band while the horn section was having a break and I missed out on a good 1/3 of the score. Last weekend, at my same sister's 60th birthday party near London, I was seated next to your dad and was able to apologize for my goof. He was prince about it. Your mom was at the table, too, but I didn't have a chance to say hello. She's lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo. I travel solo a great deal for work and otherwise and spent many months alone traveling in S.E. Asia just a few years ago in my mid-40's. The upshot of this is that I think your traveling solo is fantastic. I get it entirely and I will look forward to following your blog from here on.
Cheers.
